This is Bose’ absolute top of the line surround sound system they sell, and it is a little pricey, but I should mention though I found a pretty good deal on it, and I’ll put a link in the description below so you guys can check that out. So this is the all-in-one 5.1 system, it comes with the receiver, remote, speakers, everything you need right out of the box. It can stream right from Alexa if you have Amazon, it can hook up through your Google, it can hook up through your Firesticks, all sorts of things like that. But really, that’s a side thing. The most important thing is the sound.
Now, let me caveat this by saying I’ve never really been a home-theater-in-a-box … or I’ve always bought separate speakers, pieced together systems piece by piece, and I’ve never been necessarily into this kind of all-in-one type systems. But I’ll tell you right off the get-go, I was blown away by this Bose thing. It, in my opinion … And I wasn’t sure if it could justify the price because you can put together a pretty decent system for this price. But honestly, now I’ve been listening to this, I don’t think you can. Just to be honest, I don’t think you can … It sounds good, especially for movies. Bose, love them or hate them, they make some right sounding equipment. They know acoustics.
Part of the problem with piecing together systems is your room acoustics have to be very good. I will say that this ADAPTiQ room calibration system that they use works exceptionally well. It automatically fine-tunes and senses your reverberation points in your room and adjusts and tunes the speakers to fit. The subwoofers on Bose are some of the best in the world. They’re unbelievably good for the size and just all around. They’re clear; they’re not muddy at all. They’re exceptionally loud. They’re very good with explosions and things like that for movies. And the nice thing about it, too, is it’s completely wireless. So you can put the sub in different places around your room, trying it out and seeing where it sounds best to you. It’s one of those things you have to listen to appreciate it.
The big difference I would say versus this one versus the Lifestyle system, having heard both, is this one has exceptional movie sound and outstanding audio sound, and when I say audio, I’m talking about music. It excels in movies, although this Lifestyle system sounds quite a bit better. But in music, it can fall short, the Acoustimass. This system sounds incredible on all levels.
The amp integration works very, very well. It’ll work with things like Spotify, Google Music, Apple Music right from your smartphone. It can connect wirelessly. There is a Bose app that will handle everything, and it is set up very well and easy to use, even for a tech kind of unsavvy person like myself. It’s called SoundTouch, and it’s a straightforward system that I do like.
