Today, I want to do a review on the Samsung UN82NU8000. This is an 82 inch 4K 8 series, which is new for 2018 for Samsung. It’s a new set. I hadn’t seen any reviews on it yet, so I thought I’d give you guys my two cents on it from my experience. So, yeah.
The eight series, they make in quite a few different sizes. The one I’m reviewing is the 82-inch version, but they do make quite a variety of sizes. I will say for a 4K set, go as big as you possibly can. This is the first TV that I’ve had that size, and I’ll tell you right off the get-go, it’s nothing short of breathtaking. I used to have a projector in a home theater room, and it was good. It was an older Sony projector, and I was pleased with it. But you can’t get anything near the clarity and the color that you can get with an actual panel. The 4K panel in this thing is stunning. The bezels are so small in it; you can’t even tell it’s there. It looks like a free picture on the wall.
The color representation is super accurate. It’s very, very clear, and the deepness of the blacks is just great. I mean, it’s getting to the point now where it looks like you’re almost watching what’s happening through a window. It’s so clear. Remember, with a 4K set, because it’s such a high resolution, you want as big a screen as you can get, because to get a 4K set on a 50 inch television set, if you’re sitting 10 to 15 feet back, you won’t even tell the difference, because your eye can’t also pick up that much detail. So, you notice it a lot when you see it on these big, big televisions like this one.
It’s pretty crazy to think that you can get an 82 inch, flat-mounted 4K set when … I mean, I used to sell TVs, believe it or not, about ten years ago, and you couldn’t get a 50-inch projection set, a decent one, for under $3,000. And now, you can get this. It’s pretty crazy how cheap and how good they’ve gotten. It has 240 hertz, which is good for sports, fast moving objects. Things like that look super bright. There’s no motion blur or anything like that on your screen. It’s just really, really crisp. And Samsung uses a thing they call vibrant crystal color, which it’s a very vivid picture. If you like vivid-looking pictures, you’ll really, really like this set.
Now, you can change the color on it to make more of a cinema feel or whatever you want. But it does have a very vivid option. If you’re watching Planet Earth II in 4K on Netflix, this thing is… It’s a mind-blowing experience. It’s cool. But anyway, I hadn’t seen that many reviews on it, so I just thought I’d give my two cents. I love
