The Alexa voice assistant is now available on iOS. This means that users of iPhones and iPads will be able to use this service free of charge. This is part of the official Amazon app. The use of voice commands has been supported for some time but this has now been officially replaced by Alexa. Echo, Dot and Tap are all available within the app.
The app can be downloaded from the App Store and as soon as you have signed into Amazon Alexa is available to use straight away.
Is Alexa available in my area?
Alexa is not available in all areas yet but it is being rolled out across the country soon. The first time that you use Alexa within the app you will need to tap the microphone in the search bar. This will ask you for permission to access the microphone and once this has been done for the first time, it will not need to be done every time. Alexa
What can Alexa do for me?
There are many queries regarding your shopping that Alexa can answer and it also makes it really easy to place a reorder. It is also capable of making all the searches that you would normally make on the internet and this is all done by voice commands. There have been apps that have been available previously which supported Alexa but this app is the first that has been officially developed by Amazon.
